Jersey Boys, the Tony Award-winning musical that tells the story of
Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, will celebrate its 300th performance on Broadway tomorrow, Wednesday, July 19th at the 2:00pm matinee. The show opened at the
August Wilson Theatre on November 6, 2005.

Jersey Boys is "the story of

Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi, about a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks who became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. They wrote their own songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide - all before they were thirty," state notes on the show.
The national tour will begin this Fall in San Francisco.
Since opening,
Jersey Boys has not only won the Tony Award for Best Musical, but also Tony Awards for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical (
John Lloyd Young), Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical (
Christian Hoff), and Best Lighting Design of a Musical (Howell Binkley). The show has also received Drama Desk Awards for Outstanding Actor in a Musical (
John Lloyd Young) and Outstanding Sound Design (Steve Canyon Kennedy); Outer Critics Circle Awards for Outstanding Broadway Musical, Outstanding Actor in a Musical (
John Lloyd Young) and Outstanding Lighting Design (Howell Binkley); the Drama League Award for Distinguished Production of Musical; and
John Lloyd Young received a Theatre World Award for his performance.
