Telluride Blues & Brews Festival To Include Pre-Fest And Weekend Activities

The 23rd TELLURIDE BLUES & BREWS FESTIVAL will once again take over the majestic town of Telluride, Colorado in the heart of the Rocky Mountains.  Set for September 16-18, the annual event offers a wide variety of activities beyond those inside the festival grounds to create a truly unique mountain weekend experience. These supplemental events, including free yoga sessions, a 5K race fundraiser, an art gallery, pre-festival parties, and a film screening fundraiser, all join together to make this so much more than just any other music or beer festival. Restaurant Row's beloved Piano Bar, Don't Tell Mama, continues its October Broadway "Boozy" Brunch special guest line up this Sunday, October 9th, by welcoming Amorika Amoroso to the stage!! Amorika graduated from Temple University, and began her career in Philadelphia as a backup singer with the pop-band The Tenth House before becoming the lead singer/writer for eTribe, an original hip-hop/rap band that toured colleges/venues along the East Coast.  Amorika trained with the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in NYC, wrote and performed for the Phila-based sketch comedy troupe, Hazmat and performed her one-woman show It Just Doesn't Matter in the 1812 Productions cabaret series, Perfectly Marvelous.  She has also appeared in national commercials, off-Broadway and Off-Off Broadway productions. Amorika recently won Mama's Next Big Act, where she be debuted her show The Whore Next Door. (more...)

While now there are many different varieties of mole sauce with origins throughout the country that act as accompaniments to many different dishes, it is a common legend that mole was originally created for turkey. At the Convent of Santa Rosa in Puebla, the nuns had to rush to prepare a meal for a visiting archbishop so they killed an old turkey, cooked it and mixed everything else they had in a sauce to top it.
