Announced today is Millennials Are Killing Musicals, a new musical written by NAMT and Drama League Award-winner Nico Juber, which will receive an industry reading on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 11:00am and 2:00pm at Open Jar Studios, and will be presented in a public concert on Monday, April 4th at 9:30pm at Feinstein’s/54 Below.

Broadway Sessions celebrated its 6th Annual Black History Month Show on February 17, co-hosted by Ben Cameron & Imari Hardon, in celebration of Black excellence, impact, influence and legacy on Broadway and beyond.

The New Group has announced that the new musical Black No More will begin previews January 18, in advance of an Official Opening Night now set for Tuesday, February 15, a schedule update due to Covid-19.  Previews were previously slated to begin January 11.

The long-running hit Broadway musical Waitress is now in its final weeks of performances at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. The New Group has announced complete casting for the world premiere production of Black No More.  This new musical features Book by John Ridley, Music and Lyrics by Tariq Trotter, Music Supervision, Orchestrations and Vocal Arrangements by Daryl Waters, Choreography by Bill T. Jones and Direction by Scott Elliott. 

A new photo has been released of Ciara Renée and Joshua Henry in character for Waitress on Broadway! Ciara Renée will take over the role of Jenna in Waitress on Thursday, November 25, and Joshua Henry will take over the role of Dr. Pomatter on Monday, November 29.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Ciara Renée will join the cast of Waitress on Broadway as Jenna starting November 29, 2021. Renée replaces Jennifer Nettles, who will play her final performance on November 24.

Hadestown, the 2019 Tony Award-winning Best Musical, officially opened its North American Tour on October 15, at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. Producers Barry and Fran Weissler today announced added Monday and Sunday evening performances starting November 1st for the hit Broadway musical Waitress, currently playing at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street, NYC) through January 9, 2022. The schedules for the weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s can be found below.

The producers of Broadway’s Waitress announced today that on Tuesday October 19, Nik Dodani will take over the role of Ogie and Ben Thompson will step into Earl’s shoes. They join Jennifer Nettles, who will play Jenna through November 24.
