The Virginia Arts Festival has announced the complete cast for The Sound of Music, co-produced by the Festival and the Virginia Opera May 13-15 at the Harrison Opera House.

The pulsating rhythms and driving beats of great jazz, speak to our soul's expressive and vibrant parts. In addition, this distinctly American form of music has often given voice to diverse communities, making it a draw for LGBTQ+ artists.

Welcome To The Sixties, Melbourne! The nicest kids in town will be here from August 2022 when the original Tony Award winning Broadway production of Hairspray opens at the Regent Theatre. Acclaimed Director Jack O'Brien (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), and Choreographer Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots), lead a Broadway creative team to present Hairspray in Australia as originally intended.

What is becoming a holiday tradition at the Garry Marshall Theatre, the latest edition of HOLIDAZE HARMONY world premieres livestream December 15th, newly titled HOLIDAZE HARMONY: A SOULFUL CHRISTMAS. Garry Marshall Theatre’s artistic director Joseph Leo Bwarie directs long-time friends Terron Brooks and Kamilah Marshall in channeling their stunning vocals in HOLIDAZE songs. The 24 Hour Plays have announced additional performers who will be joining the incredible line-up for the 21st Annual The 24 Hour Plays Broadway Gala on Saturday, December 11, 2021. The 10th anniversary series, 10 Years of 54 Below, will be overseen by the club’s Creative and Programming Director, Jennifer Ashley Tepper, and begins in January 2022, running through the end of the year.  

The full cast joining Broadway star Jeremy Jordan in the sell-out BONNIE AND CLYDE IN CONCERT has been announced. The concert will take place at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane on Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 January 2022.

Broadway star EDEN ESPINOSA will be performing a solo concert at the Cadogan Hall on Friday 8 April 2022 at 7.30pm.  Tickets are on general sale from Friday 5 November at 11.00am.

The Foundation for New American Musicals (FNAM) will honor Marc Shaiman with their inaugural Inspire Award at their FNAM ALL-STAR BENEFIT AND FUNDRAISER October 24th at a private Pacific Palisades residence. Scheduled to appear that night: Megan Hilty, Matthew Morrison, Bruce Vilanch, Marisha Wallace and Marissa Jaret Winokur. Marc took a brief moment from his many obligations to answer my queries with his snappy quips.

After two and a half years without Broadway's biggest night, the Tony Awards returned on Sunday, Sept. 26! This year's presentation honored the outstanding shows, performances and artistry of the 2019-2020 Broadway season. 

On December 22 (9pm on CBS), five Honorees will receive the 44th Kennedy Center Honors for lifetime artistic achievements. Plenty of Broadway babies have been honored at past ceremonies and the best of Broadway makes the trip to DC to tribute them. Check out just a few of our favorites.
