The Public Theater presents the world premiere of Bridget Everett's ROCK BOTTOM at Joe's Pub, kicking off the 2014-15 downtown season at Astor Place. The Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts (PTPA) will present JOPLIN'S PEARL FEATURING AMBER FERRARI on Saturday, November 1st at 8:00 PM. Amber is a powerhouse and during the first half of her show she will perform the music of some of her favorite Artists like Jefferson Airplane, Pat Benatar, Annie Lennox and others along with her own original music! The second half of her show is dedicated to the greatest rocker of them all, the legendary Janis Joplin. When she steps out on stage dressed as Janis herself and begins to sing, audience members will feel as if they have stepped back in time. With complete command of their styles and with authenticity of the music, even the original artists would find Amber Ferrari and her powerful band a fine tribute to their legacy. Amber will be joined by special guest saxophonist, Billboard Recording Artist Richie Cannata, best known for playing with Billy Joel and The Beach Boys. Comedian/MC Ike Avelli will be opening the evening and a portion of the proceeds will benefit The Great South Bay Lions Club. Jim Brochu to Return to Barrington Stage in CHARACTER MAN This Month

Barrington Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson, announces the return of Drama Desk Award-winner Jim Brochu in his new show Character Man, following his wildly successful run of Zero Hour in 2011. A musical valentine celebrating the Golden Age of the American Musical, Character Man will be presented at BSC's St. Germain Stage at the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center from September 18 through 28. The Auditorium Theatre Selected as Fifth Star Honoree

The Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University, celebrating their 125th Anniversary Season, has been chosen as one of five honorees for the City of Chicago and the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) inaugural Fifth Star Awards, celebrating the city's creativity through artists, arts advocates and cultural institutions. The free public celebration, also honoring dancer Lou Conte, artist Richard Hunt, Grammy-winning composer, pianist and radio personality Ramsey Lewis and arts advocate Lois Weisberg, will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 7:00 pm at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park (201 E. Karen Irwin tore up the stage at The Cabaret at The Columbia Club July 25 and 26. The Indianapolis native is well known for her bluesy rasp vocals and excellent coverage of Janis Joplin tunes.
