Edward Watts (Scandalous on Broadway; Superman in It's a Bird..Plane..It's Superman at Encores!), has signed on to join the cast of The Fantasticks, for two weeks only, right before its 56th anniversary on May 3, producers Al Parinello and Catherine Russell have announced. Kimilee, Jarlath, and Emilio have been working on this piece for over two years and Jarlath and Emilio for even longer. It takes an awful lot to get a show produced, especially in NYC! Previously known as Salute a Tutti which means 'Health to all' certainly does represent the story, however, in working on the piece, we decided on Miracolo . The story takes place on an island called 'Miracolo' where, at a beautiful spa many miracles take place (including true love) and also in Roma in a hospital and surrounding piazzas where miracles can also happen. The cast also includes cabaret and Broadway veterans Trent Armand Kendall (Broadway's Smokey Joe's Cafe, Into the Woods),Award-winning vocal group Marquee 5, T. Oliver Reid (Broadway's Sister Act, The Color Purple), Julie Reyburn(MAC/Bistro/Nightlife Award winner) and Lucia Spina (Broadway's Kinky Boots, South Pacific). Sondheim Unpluggedis hosted by 54 Below's Director of Original Programming, Phil Geoffrey Bond, with Musical Direction by Joe Goodman. Show Boat, the American musical masterpiece with a grand score by Oscar Hammerstein and Jerome Kern that includes the classic songs 'Ol' Man River' and 'Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man,' is now playing at the Wells Fargo Pavilion through July 14. Generally considered America's first true musical, the show has not been at Music Circus in 12 years, and this is its first time at the Wells Fargo Pavilion.
