Enjoy a Company performance from the comfort of your own home, followed by live Q&A sessions with Artistic Director and CEO of Ballet Hispánico Eduardo Vilaro, choreographers and Company and alumni dancers. The piece features Mr. Vilaro himself, during his years as a dancer with the Company.

Ballet Hispánico, the nation's renowned Latinx dance organization recognized this year as one of America's Cultural Treasures, kicks off 2021 with a glimpse into the company's past.

Featuring three complementary components, this month-long tribute takes audiences on a virtual tour of some of the most important moments in Black Musical Theatre History as well as introducing audiences to the talents that helped create the Broadway Musical as we know it.

Ballet Hispánico kicks off 2021 with a glimpse into the company's past. The 50th Anniversary Celebration continues with a series of entertaining archival repertory pieces, inviting audiences to look back at vibrant performances from the 80s and 90s with the Ballet Hispánico Watch Party Series.

Broadway composer/lyricist/author/musical director/vocal arranger/dance arranger/orchestrator/accompanist, best known for composing The Tornado, and Emerald City Ballet in the Broadway hit 'The Wiz,' Timothy Graphenreed, passed away March 1, 2020, at Mt. Sinai at the age of 68.

Darkness RISING Project is a 501 (c3) composed of singers and musicians from the Black Broadway community whose purpose is to help those in the Black community begin conversations about mental health, provide access to resources, and erase the negative stigma of mental health issues.

The Blacksmiths, a new national coalition of artists, curators, producers, and organizers that forges culture for Black liberation, are kicking off a summer series of events and activities in New York City this Juneteenth Weekend, June 19 & 20, 2020.

Celebrating the resilience, vitality, and joy of age in response to this time of COVID-19 and the strengthened American fight for equality and justice for all, Dances For A Variable Population (DVP) will present, REVIVAL 4: Virtual!  This five-day virtual performance festival features daily interactive dance workshops free and open to the public with a grand finale performance, REVIVAL 4: Virtual!, featuring eight legendary dance artists and 50 non-professional senior dancers. 

The Riant Theatre (Van Dirk Fisher, Artistic Director), a nonprofit theatre supporting playwrights and theatre makers of diverse cultural backgrounds, held the Gala for its annual Strawberry One-Act Festival, which takes place from February 12th through February 23, 2020 at Theatre 54 @ Shetler Studios and Theatres, 244 West 54th St, 12th Floor, NYC.

 Lotus Music & Dance and George Faison are pleased to present a celebration of Mahatma Gandhi's life through dance on Saturday, February 29th at 5pm. The evening's program will be a collaboration of Lotus Music & Dance's artists including Bharata Natyam dancers Harini Srinivasan, Akhila Konuru, Kuchipudi dancers Nithya and Nishta Nandakumar, Odissi dancers Bani Ray, Shefali Ray, Shreya Patnaik, Neha Biswal, Karishmaa lyer, Neha Ketkar and more. 

On Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Jill Newhouse Gallery on the Upper East Side, artists of color will engage in a special talk about European art for the tenth annual Master Drawings New York. Conceived by Savona Bailey-McClain and Jill Newhouse, this event hopes to diversify the conversation about art and bridge time periods, artists and audiences in this 21st century.

The Riant Theatre (Van Dirk Fisher, Artistic Director), a nonprofit theatre supporting playwrights and theatremakers of diverse cultural backgrounds, is holding the Launch Party for its annual Strawberry One-Act and Theatre Festival on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 4:30pm at the Thalia Studios at Peter Norton Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway at 95th St, NYC. The evening will begin with a reception with food, drinks and a screening of the Video Diaries Project: a series of short films about the artists in the festival.
