It's going to be one fine day in Wichita Kansas when BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL comes to Century II Concert Hall on May 15 and runs through May 19, 2019. 

Mean Girls star, Taylor Louderman, will be on hand at (Le) Poisson Rouge this Monday, May 6, as the 'Comfort Counselor' for Broadway stars participating in the 4th Annual Broadway Bee, a fundraiser for Broadway Bound Kids. In addition to the fetch Louderman, Afra Hines (Hadestown) and Jillian Mueller (Pretty Woman) round out the classroom of spellers who join previously announced Paige Davis (Chicago), Ali Stroker (Oklahoma), J Harrison Ghee (Kinky Boots), Jelani Remy (Ain't Too Proud), Lee Aaron Rosen (Angels in America), Evan Todd (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), Zach Hess (Frozen), Lauryn Ciardullo (Aladdin), and Alex Weisman (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child).

Singer Julie Budd will perform The Songs of My Life... And the Composers Who Wrote Them on Wednesday, May 1 through Saturday, May 4 at 7 pm in the Birdland Theater. The Songs Of My Life is a journey in music through Budd's many decades in show business. Under musical director Herb Bernstein, Budd will perform material by such varied songwriters as Michel Legrand, Duke Ellington. Laura Nyro, Jule Styne, Cy Coleman, Dorothy Fields, Marvin Hamlisch, Carole King, Barry Manilow, Anthony Newley, Marc Shaiman, Burt Bacharach & Hal David, Neil Sedaka, Oscar Levant and more.

Los Angeles-based band JEMS will release their debut self-titled album on May 17 (pre-order). This week the band revealed the latest single from the album 'Like Myself.' The track premiered this week at AudioFemme along with an exclusive interview with the band. 'Like Myself' can also be shared at SoundCloud. JEMS have also announced a Los Angeles record release show coming up on May 18 at The Hotel Cafe. New spellers have been added to Broadway Bound Kids' fourth annual Broadway Bee set for Monday, May 6, 2019, at 7 PM at Le Poisson Rouge (158 Bleecker Street). It's a comedic adult spelling bee featuring cast members from hit Broadway shows who compete in a hilarious live event, while raising funds to provide a wide range of performing arts opportunities for NYC youth, regardless of their financial resources. Broadway Dreams once again demonstrated the unifying power of the arts when the internationally renowned performing arts education program sent a team of Broadway professionals to Moscow, Russia for the fourth consecutive year. Through a landmark partnership created between the non-profit organization, Broadway Moscow Theatre Company, the U.S. Embassy, and the U.S. Department of State, Broadway Dreams offered their unique brand of Broadway master classes to professional and aspiring Russian musical theater performers of all ages during a ten-day intensive program. The collaboration culminated in two public performances at the MDM Theatre on Wednesday, April 24, 2019.

Midnight Theatricals will present the World Premiere of safeword. written and directed by S. Asher Gelman. Performances will begin at The American Theatre of Actors (314 W 54 Street, NYC) on Thursday, April 11, 2019 and open on Thursday, April 25, 2019, running through July 7, 2019

Grammy, Tony, and Emmy Award winner Ben Platt stopped by the YouTube Space in NYC to perform songs from his debut album Sing To Me Instead and chat with Billboard journalist, Rebecca Milzoff.  Fans worldwide fell head over heels for Ben Platt during his Tony Award-winning turn in the title role of Dear Evan Hansen and on-screen in films such as the Pitch Perfect franchise. ANTI- Records and Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Ryan Pollie are pleased to present “Get Better Soon,” the second track to be lifted from his forthcoming self-titled album (pre-order).
