Yesterday, March 11th, the American Film Institute (AFI) celebrated the 2021 AFI AWARDS honorees with a star-studded invite-only luncheon in Beverly Hills. AFI also revealed its official rationales (below) for all 23 honorees, providing the cultural and artistic context to mark these outstanding creative endeavors as the year’s notable milestones.

Day 4 of the 37th Annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival presented by UGG began with the Writers panel conversation on Saturday morning. The 72nd Annual ACE Eddie Awards presented by American Cinema Editors (ACE) today announced winners LIVE at the Theater at the ACE Hotel recognizing outstanding editing in 14 categories of film, television, and documentaries. In addition to the announcement of winners in competitive categories, Michelle Satter accepted the prestigious ACE Golden Eddie Award - recognizing an artist or company for distinguished achievement in film - on behalf of The Sundance Institute; two-time Oscar® winner and 2021 ACE Eddie nominee Chloe Zhao presented the honor.

This morning, Tracee Ellis Ross and Leslie Jordan announced the nominations for the 2022 Academy Awards, which will be held this year on March 27th! Nominees includes Andrew Garfield, Ariana DeBose, Jessie Buckley, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Judi Dench, Steven Spielberg, Nicole Kidman, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Denzel Washington, and more.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts have announced the nominees for the 2022 BAFTA Film Awards. West Side Story scored five nominations, including nods for Ariana DeBose and Mike Faist.
