Walt Disney Records Releases THE GOOD DINOSAUR SoundtrackWalt Disney Records Releases THE GOOD DINOSAUR Soundtrack
by BWW News Desk - Nov 20, 2015

'The Good Dinosaur' takes Arloand the audienceon an emotional journey of self-discovery. Filmmakers opted to tell the story in a new way, relying less on dialogue, while leaning into the power of nature, compelling characters and music that captures the imagination. 'It's a dinosaur movie, so the music needs to be big,' says director Peter Sohn. 'But it's also that classic boy-and-his-dog story embarking on a journey home. That calls for a certain sensitivity to embrace the emotions. Mychael and Jeff are brilliant artists when it comes to setting up a theme that can be sweet and hopeful one moment and strong and powerful the next. And they do it in a unique way.' (more...)

BWW Review: At New Moon Theatre's TITUS, Tamora Gets Hers 'Sonny Side Up'BWW Review: At New Moon Theatre's TITUS, Tamora Gets Hers 'Sonny Side Up'
by Joseph Baker - Nov 2, 2015

Probably the best (of the few) productions of TITUS ANDRONICUS was the 1999 film directed by Julie Taymor. Anthony Hopkins, donning his apron from SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, was a witty choice as 'Titus,' and Jessica Lange, years before jumping with abandon into the excesses of AMERICAN HORROR STORY, was a stunning 'Tamora, Queen of the Goths.' The visuals, typically 'Taymor,' were imaginative and impressive. Yet, by the film's conclusion, one thing was obvious about Shakespeare's TITUS (wildly popular in its day, but largely dismissed by modern audiences): The Bard jettisoned poetry for gore and special effects. That is also the direction that John Maness and his eager group of actors has taken New Moon Theatre Company's latest production at Theatre Works. (more...)
