New York Theatre Workshop announced today performers and presenters for the NYTW 2022 Gala, honoring Artistic Director James C. Nicola, who will depart NYTW after 34 years on June 30, 2022. The Gala will be held on Monday April 11 at 6PM at Capitale (130 Bowery, New York, NY 10013).

Bucks County Playhouse has rescheduled the previously announced release of Broadway and television star Andy Mientus’s “Ladies of the Canyon” film to March 18, 2022. The film will now stream on the Stellar platform through April 1, 2022.

Broadway and television star Andy Mientus brings Joni Mitchell’s iconic 1970 album “Ladies of the Canyon” to life in a new filmed concert, captured last winter in New Hope, Pennsylvania. The film features performances by Christy Altomare, Tony Award winner Nikki M. James, Krista Pioppi, and Cathy Ang.

One of the songs from the project, 'Pura Vida', particularly caught my attention. It is about environmental preservation and nature. Pura Vida literally means 'pure life', but in Costa Rica it's like a motto; it's an expression used in almost every conversation. It means that everything is fine, but it can also mean thank you. When I first listened to the song I wondered if Jonathan Larson had ever been to Costa Rica. How did he come up with the phrase?

Andy Mientus Joins Cast of Netflix's GRENDEL Series
