Red Balloon was released last May on Verve Records to widespread critical praise. Predominantly produced by Tank and the Bangas, the 16-track album includes contributions from Big Freedia, Alex Isley, Masego, Lalah Hathaway, Jacob Collier, Questlove, Trombone Shorty, Jamison Ross, The Ton3s, Georgia Anne Muldrow and Wayne Brady.

Renaissance Now Theatre & Film, led by Kathy Curtiss, specializes in freely adapting Shakespearean plays with additions of dialogue in contemporary prose. This 'now speak' is used to highlight social issues, including political and moral themes, from the viewpoint of characters in the plays. The company will present 'Hamlet Speak,' adapted and directed by Ms. Curtiss, July 26 to 29 at The Chain Theatre, 312 West 36th Street, 4th floor.

The troupe will present 'A Midsummer Night's Dream,' transported to the California Rock Music scene of Laurel Canyon in the early 1970's, from July 26 to 29 at The Chain Theatre, 312 West 36th Street, 4th floor.

Tank and The Bangas will kick off their spring headline tour in March with shows at Los Angeles’ Teragram Ballroom, Portland’s Revolution Hall, Seattle’s Neumos, Denver’s Bluebird Theater and more. Most recently, the band’s third studio album, Red Balloon, received a nomination for “Best Progressive R&B Album” at the 2023 Grammy Awards.

Best New Artist Grammy nominees Tank and The Bangas returned to the “TODAY Show” to perform their track “Communion In My Cup” featuring The Ton3s. Best New Artist Grammy nominees Tank and The Bangas team up with acclaimed hip-hop duo EARTHGANG for a remix of their track, “Communion In My Cup.” In addition, the band continues to take their lauded live show on the road this year, including a residency at New York’s Blue Note Jazz Club.

Just in time for Fall, Tacoma Little Theatre presents Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express, adapted for the stage by Ken Ludwig (Lend Me A Tenor, Holmes for the Holidays). This thrilling new version of the classic mystery will be directed by Melanie Gladstone. Check out photos of the production here.

Roll On! Productions in association with the Center for Nonprofit Advancement and Dasu Productions will present Roll On! A Gospel Musical, starring legendary Tony Award Winner and Grammy Award nominee, Melba Moore, at the THEARC Theater in Washington, DC for 21 shows, opening Sunday, October 9 until Sunday, October 30, 2022.
