The Theatre Project and TP&co will present the launch of Shakespeare Off-Broadway with a Limited Off-Broadway Engagement of The Bard's classic comedy, Twelfth Night, or What You Will. Shakespeare Off-Broadway is a new series dedicated to the presentation of vital and imaginative productions of William Shakespeare's work. Twelfth Night will take the stage of the historic Players Theatre in the heart of Greenwich Village from February 13 through March 7, 2015.

The Theatre Project and TP&co are New York City based theatre companies, and two branches of the same organization. The Theatre Project explores modern and experimental works within new play development, while TP&co takes a more traditional approach, specializing in classic theatre pieces. Although their fields of focus differ, both are bound by the shared values of a high quality holistic approach from design through to execution, and favor fine detail and artist-driven collaboration. These values informed the development of Shakespeare Off-Broadway.

Through Shakespeare Off-Broadway, The Theatre Project and TP&co maintain a commitment to continuously offer evocative, affordable productions of William Shakespeare's classic plays in an ongoing format. Through innovative productions inspired by the traditions of London's Globe and Burbage's The Theatre, with the intent of establishing the age-old celebration of The Bard's classic plays on the Off-Broadway stage.

Filled with courtship, comedy and mistaken identity, the Bard's beloved comedy tells the tale of fraternal twins Viola and Sebastian, separated in a strange new land. Having survived a shipwreck and believing her brother Sebastian has been lost, Viola falls hopelessly in love with Duke Orsino and disguises herself as a man so she can be near him. Music, merriment and swashbuckling adventure abound in Twelfth Night! It's a gloriously gender-jumbled romantic tale with the kind of comic confusion that only Shakespeare could create.

Twelfth Night runs exclusively at The Players Theatre (115 Macdougal Street between West 3rd and Minetta Lane), with performances at 7:00PM every Friday and Saturday from February 13 through March 7, 2015.
