Producers Lindsay Alexis, Alexa Bergman, and Jason Kovacs have announced that Sea Legs: A Nautical New Musical, with book and lyrics by Tyler Dean and music by Michael Tooman, will begin performances tonight, September 20 in the Chernuchin Theatre at the American Theatre of Actors.

Directed by Taylor Norton, the seven-performance run will continue through September 27th as a part of the 2014 Araca Project. The production will feature choreography by Whitney Brandt and musical direction by Robert Ariza. All three, in addition to several members of the company, are recent graduates from the University of Michigan.

The New York premiere of Sea Legs stars Michael Hartung, Colin Hartman, Alyssa Block, and Whitney Winfield, joined by Victoria Britt, Henry Gottfried, Kesinee Haney, Abby Hart, Gaby Hornig, Sammy Lopez, Tim Markham, Kelly Robinson, Devin Rossinsky, Jacob Samuels, Sean Seymour, and Roxy York.

Sea Legs is an award-winning original musical about four young orphans who long for adventure outside their quaint harbor town. But when adulthood, romance, and a few unexpected visitors are thrown in their path, they find that adventure might be closer than they once thought. This coming-of-age tale will reconnect adults with their imagination and inspire children to find their own adventure. Originally produced in February of this year at the University of Michigan, it was then selected as the only musical of this year's Araca Project.

The American Theatre of Actors is located at 314 W. 54th Street. Tickets are currently on sale at BrownPaperTickets.com. Visit sealegsthemusical.com for more information.
