Acadian folk trio, Vishtén, release their new album Terre Rouge today!

Inspired by their homeland, Prince Edward Island, Terre Rouge offered the chance for Vishtèn to join forces with local French-speaking researchers, dancers, and musicians they had longed to collaborate with for years. Known for their trademark blend of fiddle, guitar, accordion, harmonium, whistles, piano, bodhrán, jaw harp, moog, electric guitar and percussive dance, Vishtèn creates a unique tour de force of traditional and contemporary sounds. Terre Rouge is no exception, overflowing with these rich French, Micmac, and Celtic roots.

Vishtén rocks out on Terre Rouge with a fiery blend of traditional French songs and original instrumentals that fuse Celtic and Acadian genres with a modern sensibility of rock influence.

PEI is home to the group, Vishtèn, and a constant source of unexpected inspiration. The island has musical terroir of sorts by quiet eccentrics and unsung local legends. Its red earth, the image that guided the ensemble's new album Terre Rouge, sprouted unique music fed by French, Micmac, and Celtic roots.
