BUFFALO, NY - The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Shakespeare in Delaware Park will present a free performance at 7 PM Tuesday, July 19, on the brand-new Shakespeare in Delaware Park stage on Shakespeare Hill in Delaware Park. Excellent opportunities for photos and video exist.

This concert is part of the global commemoration of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death. Stefan Sanders will lead music inspired by Shakespeare's works, including Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet," Purcell's "The Fairy Queen" suite, and "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by Mendelssohn. Actors from Shakespeare in Delaware Park will perform scenes from "Romeo and Juliet" and from "A Midsummer Night's Dream."

The free event is sponsored by Gibraltar and by Delaware District Councilmember Joel Feroleto, with support from Gurney Becker and Bourne, Brian Parisi Copier Systems, and an anonymous friend of the BPO.

Up to 30 minutes of filming of the orchestra is permitted. Three minutes of footage can be used for news; up to a total of five minutes may be used if multiple works were captured in the 30 minute filming. News broadcasters may put 10 minutes of what was filmed on their website for 21 days in connection with the broadcast (may not include a complete work or a movement longer than three minutes).
