Women On The Verge has adapted 4 Monologues from Dario Fo and Franca Rame written in the 70s - 80s to bring them to present to create a political play. 4 working class women and 4 cabaret dancers defending women's rights and equality.

1 in 3 Women have experienced physical/sexual violence at some point in their lives.

2 in 3 victims of intimate partner/ family related homicide are women.

Women on the verge is an act of protest, we're using the humor and the personal claim against injustice. Four women are in stressful situations, four different situations that are just an example of how women around the world are abused in one or another way.

From the 8 monologues for Women by Dario Fo and Franca Rame we take 4 to create an exciting experience... a funny and dangerous performance.

Four dancers from a mean-spirited cabaret are the archetype of the objectification of women. These four dancers sing to announce each of the monologues and tell us the stories of a woman locked up by her husband, a sex worker who has set a building on fire in an act of revenge, the story of a rape and a day in a factory worker's life who's on the verge of a crisis. These are the characters incarnated in this play.

We try to be as irreverent as our beloved Fo and Rame, we want to be humorous and humanistic. It is not an easy-to-digest performance, but it is extremely necessary.

The Bridge (Teatro Latino) Theatre Company was created 2 years ago. We seek to promote the Latin theatre and dramaturgy among the Australian public. We are a creative group that aims to develop a simple aesthetic and at the same time entertain the audience. We pursue relevant contents that are humanistic and revealing. Beauty is a concept that is behind our search as a group, we are a cooperative and horizontal creative organization.
