Quote of the Day: THE OLDEST BOY playwright Sarah Ruhl on the fluidity and freedom of identity...

"...if identity is fluid, then we might actually be free. And furthermore, if identity is fluid, then we might actually be connected--in Whitman's sense--if we can be the leaves of grass and also the masses on the Brooklyn Bridge, then we can leave the ego behind and be world for a moment. And this is one reason why we go to theater, either to identify with others, or to be others, for the moment..."

Video of the Day: Bradley Cooper stopped by CBS SUNDAY MORNING this weekend to talk about his journey bringing THE ELEPHANT MAN to Broadway. Check out the full interview below!

And finally, a Happy Birthday shout-out to Terrence McNally, who turns 76 today!

McNally's It's Only a Play is currently running on Broadway with a star-packed cast, and Lips Together, Teeth Apart just opened at Second Stage. Among the playwright's many other works are Mothers and Sons, Master Class (Tony winner for Best Play), Catch Me If You Can, Ragtime (which won him a Tony for Best Book of a Musical), Frankie and Johnny and the Clair de Lune, The Full Monty, Love! Valour! Compassion! (another Tony for Best Play), Kiss of the Spider Woman (and again, a Tony for Best Book of a Musical) and more. His play Corpus Christi -- a homosexual re-telling of the story of Jesus -- stirred up controversy in 1997 when it premiered at Manhattan Theatre Club, and subsequently around the globe.
