As reported by BroadwayWorld, the new West End cast of KINKY BOOTS gave its first performance at the Adelphi Theatre on Monday 15 August.

Matt Henry, who received the Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical, is extending his acclaimed performance as Lola into 2017. He's joined by David Hunter (ONCE; ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS) who takes on the role of Charlie Price.

Also joining Kinky Boots will be Elena Skye, who will be making her professional West End debut as Lauren, Alan Mehdizadeh (Billy Elliot; SWAP!; WATERSHIP DOWN) as Don and Cordelia Farnworth (SUNSET BOULEVARD; ROCK OF AGES; MAMMA MIA!) as Nicola. New cast members also include James Ballanger, Jemal Felix, George Grayson, Melissa Jacques, Charlotte Jeffery, Suzie McAdam, Jane Milligan, Robin Mills, Jon Reynolds, Ben Sell, Craig Thomas, and Jason Winter.

To celebrate the occasion, Kinky Boots has released this sparkling new trailer for its WEST END production.

With a book by Broadway legend and four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (La Cage Aux Folles), and songs by Grammy and Tony winning pop icon Cyndi Lauper, this joyous musical celebration is about the friendships we discover, and the belief that you can change the world when you change your mind.

Inspired by true events, Kinky Boots takes you from a gentlemen's shoe factory in Northampton to the glamorous catwalks of Milan. Charlie Price is struggling to live up to his father's expectations and continue the family business of Price & Son. With the factory's future hanging in the balance, help arrives in the unlikely but spectacular form of Lola, a fabulous performer in need of some sturdy new stilettos.

With direction and choreography by two-time Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell (Legally Blonde, Hairspray), Kinky Boots is the winner of every major Best Musical award including three Olivier Awards, three WhatsOnStage Awards as well as six Broadway Tony Awards.

Kinky Boots is currently booking until 14 January 2017 at London's Adelphi Theatre.
