The live production of GREASE LIVE, from FOX, Paramount and producer Marc Platt, made TV history by earning a total of ten EMMY AWARD nominations this year, the most nominations ever received for a live musical. At tonight's Creative Emmy Awards presentation, the broadcast picked up an Emmy for Outstanding Special Class Program, Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video Control For A Limited Series, Movie Or Special, an Emmy for Outstanding Lighting Design/Lighting Direction For A Variety Special and David Korins picked up an Emmy for Outstanding Production Design For A Variety, Nonfiction, Event Or Award Special. The live broadcast also earned Emmy noms for Event Or Award Special, Outstanding Casting For A Limited Series, Movie Or Special, Outstanding Costumes For A Variety, Nonfiction Or Reality Program (William Ivey Long), Outstanding Directing For A Variety Special (Tommy Kail), Outstanding Hairstyling For A Multi-Camera Series Or Special, Outstanding Makeup For A Multi-Camera Series Or Special (Non-Prosthetic), and Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Variety Series Or Special.

Airing live on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, the broadcast reintroduced and reimagined some of the show's most memorable moments, great music and timeless love story to an entirely new generation. The live event starred Julianne Hough, Aaron Tveit, Vanessa Hudgens, Keke Palmer, Carlos PenaVega, and Carly Rae Jepsen.
