AN AMERICAN IN PARIS celebrates National Dance Day by bringing attention to a good cause!

Romantic Broadway hit AN AMERICAN IN PARIS highlights National Dance Day and the Dizzy Feet Foundation in a new video featurette now available to view.

National Dance Day was created by SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE? creator Nigel Lythgoe in 2010. More information is as follows: "Launched in 2010 by "So You Think You Can Dance" co-creator and Dizzy Feet Foundation co-president Nigel Lythgoe, National Dance Day is an annual celebration that takes place on the last Saturday in July. This grassroots campaign encourages Americans to embrace dance as a fun and positive way to maintain good health and fight obesity. NDD achieved national recognition when Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), a long-time proponent of healthy lifestyles, announced at a press conference on July 31, 2010, in Washington, D.C., that she was introducing a congressional resolution declaring the last Saturday in July to be the country's official National Dance Day."

According to the official site, "Dizzy Feet Foundation was founded in 2009 by producer Nigel Lythgoe and director Adam Shankman, among others to support, improve, and increase access to dance education in the United States.

AN AMERICAN IN PARIS will be presented at Théâtre du Châtelet in English featuring the 25-member Broadway cast with a score including the songs "I Got Rhythm," "S' Wonderful," "But Not For Me," "Stairway to Paradise," "Our Love Is Here To Stay", "They Can't Take That Away" and orchestral music including "Concerto in F," "2nd Prelude," "2nd Rhapsody" and "An American In Paris"."
