New York Musical Theatre Festival is in full swing and BroadwayWorld has taken the time to sit down with some of the stars of this years NYMF musicals.

Like any great art form, musical theatre is shaped by the events and philosophies of the day. The strength and vitality of musical theatre lie in its ability to stay fresh and relevant. It was with that idea in mind, ten years ago, that the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) was created - to provide an effective platform to introduce new shows, new perspectives, and new blood into the musical theatre canon.

What's your favorite thing about performing as part of NYMF?

My favorite part of performing in NYMF is to be a part of a new show and creating something from the ground up and sharing the story with the public shortly after.

Have you participated in NYMF before? If so, what's your favorite part and what drew you back to the festival?

This is my first year participating in NYMF and I'm thrilled to be a part of it!

What other NYMF show are you most intrigued by or excited to see?

I'm pretty excited to see Manuel Versus The Statue Of Liberty and Tonya & Nancy: The Rock Opera.

Tell us about your show/your character?

Acappella the Musical is about a boy named Jeremiah who becomes a pop star and leaves home after his mother passes away. He is led down this journey of fame and loses himself along the way. Once he realizes he has lost his way, he returns home to try and find himself and has to deal with his best friend and old lover who he left behind years ago. He desperately tries to find his place in life and to seek the happiness he once had.
