American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Artistic Director Carey Perloff announced today the initial casting for A.C.T.'s upcoming production of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's rapturous and seductive musical, A Little Night Music. Filled with Sondheim's signature wit and some of his most gorgeous melodies -- including the beloved and haunting treasure "Send in the Clowns" -- A Little Night Music will feature Tony Award winner Karen Ziemba (Bullets Over Broadway, Contact) as Desiree Armfeldt; Tony Award nominee Emily Skinner (Billy Elliot: The Musical, Side Show) as Charlotte; and Patrick Cassidy (42nd Street, Sondheim's Assassins) as Federick Egerman. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

Says Perloff: "Mark Lamos and A.C.T. Casting Director Janet Foster have put together an extraordinary cast fresh from their many triumphs on Broadway and around the country. I couldn't be more excited to hear all of them singing Sondheim's glorious music on the Geary stage!"

Directed by two-time Tony Award nominee, Mark Lamos, A Little Night Music presents a beguiling and bittersweet tale of lost love, scandalous liaisons, and youthful passions that intertwine over a midsummer's eve at a country home in 1900s Sweden.

This ravishing production will waltz onto the Geary stage May 20 - June 14, 2015 in a sumptuous, all-new production that will sweep audiences away with theatrical storytelling that ignites the senses. Press night for A Little Night Music will be Wednesday, May 27, 2015.
