Love Kills: A Concert Reading is a rock musical about the famous teen spree killer Charlie Starkweather. Kyle Jarrow creates a haunting look at events that transfixed the nation in the late 1950's, starring Steppenwolf ensemble members Jeff Perry as Sheriff Merle and Ora Jones as his wife Gertrude. Soaring, driven songs from writer/composer Jarrow theatricalize his astonishingly compassionate take on the two couples whose parallel stories drive the 90-minute show. Patrick Rooney, who is a regular at Marriott Theatre, Drury and Bailiwick Chicago, takes on the role of Charlie Starkweather.

Kyle Jarrow (Book, Music & Lyrics) is an Obie Award-winning writer and musician who creates work for the stage, film and television. His plays include A Very Merry Unauthorized Children's Scientology Pageant, Noir, Whisper House and Hostage Song. Kyle penned the film Armless, which was an official selection of the Sundance Film Festival. He's developed television projects for FX, USA, FOX and CW networks. Kyle leads the band Sky-Pony along with his wife Lauren Worsham. Upcoming: The SpongeBob Musical directed by ensemble member Tina Landau, and the digital TV series Pulse (with music by Duncan Sheik) on Verizon's Go90 platform. For information at landoftrust.com.
