Family and community combine with the Arts when "Broadway In Your Backyard" and Conejo Valley Little League join forces! Cabrillo Music Theatre launches their upcoming production of DAMN YANKEES and the RE-PLAY IT campaign at TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME: A Day of Music, Baseball and "Heart!"

Inspired by the team spirit and "Heart" of DAMN YANKEES, TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME features sports activities, entertainment, an exhibition softball game with Conejo Valley Little League, sports stars, and great food.

In addition, Cabrillo launches a brand-new "Beyond The Footlights" Outreach Program that will provide much-needed sports equipment for underserved youngsters, as well as partnering with Project Bully Buster, a non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating school bullying.

Along the way, families and individuals will enjoy a day outdoors while supporting local vendors, rubbing elbows with sports celebs, and, most importantly, gathering together with city officials, community leaders and local businesses for a free afternoon of baseball, food and fun.

"I'm incredibly excited about TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME," says Cabrillo Music Theatre's Artistic Director, Lewis Wilkenfeld. "I played little league as a kid -- a lot of us did -- and this whole event is bringing back great memories." On a serious note, Wilkenfeld adds, "We're honored to welcomePROJECT BULLY BUSTER as our partner for this event -- the work they're doing is fundamental to the self-esteem of young people. Plus, there are families in this community who don't have the same advantages we did -- access to sports equipment -- and our RE-PLAY IT drive will make a huge difference in a lot of lives." Adds Wilkenfeld, "Cabrillo audiences always give generously to our outreach efforts -- I'm sure they'll once again come through in the clutch!"

At the end of the day, as the cheering fades, attendees of Cabrillo's TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME will walk (or limp) home with fond memories that will be cherished for years to come.
