Musical Theatre West just announced yesterday that for its 2014-15 season of shows, they will be presenting the first production of the Broadway musical BIG FISH since its New York debut. The California show will also feature the original Broadway sets and costumes. BIG FISH will run October 31 - November 16, 2014.

BIG FISH is a new musical based on the celebrated novel by Daniel Wallace and the acclaimed Columbia Pictures film directed by Tim Burton. Original direction and choreography by 5-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman (The Producers, The Scottsboro Boys), music and lyrics by Tony nominee Andrew Lippa (The Addams Family, The Wild Party) and a new book by John August ("Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "Corpse Bride"), who also penned the screenplay for the film version.

Musical Theatre West's production will feature the original Broadway sets and costumes and run at the Carpenter Performing Performing Arts Center in Long Beach October 31 - November 16, 2014. Single tickets will go on sale on September 17, 2014.

The Broadway musical BIG FISH played its final performance on December 29, 2013, after 34 previews and 98 regular performances at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 West 52 Street).

BIG FISH centers on Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who lives life to its fullest... and then some! Edward's incredible, larger-than-life stories thrill everyone around him - most of all, his devoted wife Sandra. But their son Will, about to have a child of his own, is determined to find the truth behind his father's epic tales. Big Fish is about dreaming, loving and living bigger.
