Spontaniacs Comedy Improv
April Fool's Day falls on April 2nd this year. The Spontaniacs! are BACK in a new location.
Open Arms Youth Project at 2015 South Lakewood Avenue (north of 21st between Yale and Sheridan), is now the place to see the Spontaniacs! on the first Friday of every month beginning Friday, April 2 at 8:00pm.
Come see the clas...sic the Spontaniacs! version of Soap Opera: a 15 minute improvisational play based on words given by the audience. In addition to two Soap Operas, the Spontaniacs! are introducing a brand new form; the Murder Mystery! This is no garden variety dinner party mystery play, this is Murder Mystery done the Spontaniacs! way. You'll also see classic scenes with ridiculous themes (or ridiculous scenes with classic themes).
Show up before 8pm and give us your suggestions for the show. It's ALL improv.
Cover is $5 at the door.

AUDITIONS, ANNOUNCEMENTS, ETC

We have now opened enrollment for our summer drama camps for kids and teens ages 4-18! The camps will be at our new studio on Cherry Street in Tulsa, which will open in May. Details about our grand opening and open house will be announced soon!
We are offering five camps for the following age groups:
Baby Broadway (4 & 5-year-olds) $95
June 7-11 / M-F 9:00-12:00
Our little campers will be introduced to the world of theatre through song, dance, and pantomime. They will also enjoy reenacting fairy tales and nursery rhymes. Most of all, they will have fun with games and activities that expand their creativity and imagination!
Wiggles and Giggles (1st - 3rd Grade) $225
June 14-25 / M-F 9:00-5:00 p.m.
Our most imaginative campers will put their creativity and energy to good use on stage! Children will perform poems, songs, and skits of familiar fables and fairy tales. Children will have great fun with games and exercises while building self-esteem and confidence.
Heroes and Villains! (4th - 7th Grade) $250
July 12-July 23 / M-F 9:00-5:00 p.m.
Campers will learn the play-writing and performance processes by creating hero and villain characters and then adding the setting and conflict to form their own play! They will have fun learning methods of expression, character development, and other important skills.
Fun with Improv! (7th - 12th Grade) $155
June 28-July 9 / M-F 9:00-12:00 p.m.
Intermediate and advanced actors will learn the principles of improvisation and the confidence to embrace anything that is thrown at them when they don't have a script. Students will learn team building skills to strengthen their ability to perform with their fellow actors on stage. $15 discount for students who also enroll in "Heroes & Villains" or "Rising Stars" camp.
Rising Stars (8th - 12th Grade) $275
July 26-August 6 / M-F 9:00-5:00 p.m.
This camp is a fun way to take your acting skills to the next level by building on previous experience and learning to create authentic emotion, form genuine relationships, and analyze and develop scenes and characters. Focus on portraying believable, interesting characters through scenes and monologues.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Tuition includes camp t-shirt, snacks, and photo CD. Full-day campers may pack a lunch or purchase lunch for $5 a day. Indicated age groups refer to the grade that the child will enter in Fall 2010. High school class of 2010 graduates are welcome! All camps (excluding Baby Broadway) end with a showcase performance. Before-care is available for half-day camps, and before and after-care is available full-day camps $10 discount for early-bird payment (by May 15) and additional siblings.

Theatre Classes in the Park!!
Heller & Clark Theatres will offer 2 workshops in Spring 2010. Most classes are taught by degreed professionals and are open to anyone regardless of skill level. Come out and get involved in theatre!
Audition Workshop for Teens
This workshop will prepare high school juniors and seniors for college-bound theatre auditions. The workshop will include monologue work as well as reviewing headshots and resumes. Class is taught by Erin Scarberry. Saturday, April 17th and Saturday, April 24th from 1:30-3:00pm. Cost is $20.
Creative Journaling
This class guides you through the methods and benefits of keeping a personal journal as a creative avenue of self-exploration. The class is geared towards the process of self-discovery rather than writing for publication. There will be an in-class writing exercise each week, and writers will be encouraged to share other work as well. Class is taught by Julie Tattershall. April 1st through May 20th from 6:00-7:00pm. The class is for adults and teens age 16 and up. Cost is free.

No audition is necessary for acceptance to the program.

that showcases student work in all three disciplines.
