Troupe heeft de volledige cast aangekondigd voor de wereldpremière van Simon Reade's nieuwe toneelbewerking van Twenty Thousand Streets Under the Sky van Patrick Hamilton. Michael Maloney (Ernest Eccles), Alex Bhat (George Perry) en Lucy Gray (Prunella/Verhuurster/Bediende) voegen zich bij de eerder aangekondigde Yanexi Enriquez (Jenny Maple), Rosalind Lailey (Ella Dawson) en Jordan Scowen (Bob). Gebaseerd op Hamiltons klassieke roman, gesitueerd in het Londen van de late jaren 1920, volgt het stuk het leven van drie eenzame Londenaren en hun verlangen naar verbinding en wederzijdse obsessie.
De productie van Matthew Iliffe gaat in première in Southwark Playhouse Borough op 16 september, met previews vanaf 10 september, en loopt door tot 17 oktober 2026.

Londen, 1929. In de louche Midnight Bell-pub droomt barman Bob ervan schrijver te worden, terwijl serveerster Ella droomt van een relatie met Bob. Geadapteerd van de klassieke roman van Patrick Hamilton, beroemd auteur van Gaslight, Rope en Hangover Square, is Twenty Thousand Streets Under the Sky een episch verhaal over drie eenzame Londenaren die zoeken naar verbinding in de uitgestrekte straten van de metropool. Zowel donkerhumoristisch als aangrijpend, is het een liefdesbrief aan het jazz-tijdperk van de jaren 1920 in Londen in al zijn smerige glorie. Een bejubelde televisiebewerking werd in 2005 uitgezonden op BBC Four, met Sally Hawkins in de hoofdrol.
Deze wereldpremière van Simon Reade's scherpe nieuwe toneelstukbewerking wordt geregisseerd door Off West End Award-winnaar Matthew Iliffe (Bacon) en heeft een ensemblecast in een stijlvolle periodeproductie, van de producent van Noël Coward's The Rat Trap en John Galsworthy's The Forsyte Saga Delen 1 en 2 (RSC / Park Theatre).
