Distribution complète annoncée pour la première mondiale de TWENTY THOUSAND STREETS UNDER THE SKY au Southwark Playhouse

Troupe a annoncé la distribution complète pour la première mondiale de la nouvelle adaptation théâtrale de Simon Reade de Twenty Thousand Streets Under the Sky de Patrick Hamilton. Michael Maloney (Ernest Eccles), Alex Bhat (George Perry) et Lucy Gray (Prunella/Propriétaire/Serveuse) rejoignent les précédemment annoncés Yanexi Enriquez (Jenny Maple), Rosalind Lailey (Ella Dawson) et Jordan Scowen (Bob). Basée sur le roman classique de Hamilton situé dans le Londres de la fin des années 1920, la pièce suit la vie de trois Londoniens solitaires et leur désir de connexion ainsi que leur obsession mutuelle.

La production de Matthew Iliffe s'ouvre au Southwark Playhouse Borough le 16 septembre, avec des avant-premières dès le 10 septembre, et se joue jusqu'au 17 octobre 2026.

Adaptée du roman classique de Patrick Hamilton, célèbre auteur de Gaslight, Rope et Hangover Square, Twenty Thousand Streets Under the Sky est une épopée sur trois Londoniens solitaires cherchant un lien dans les vastes rues de la métropole. À la fois sombrement humoristique et dévastatrice, c'est une lettre d'amour à Londres dans les années 1920, époque du Jazz, avec toute sa gloire poussiéreuse. Une adaptation télévisée acclamée a été diffusée sur BBC Four en 2005, avec Sally Hawkins en tête d'affiche.

Cette première mondiale de la nouvelle adaptation théâtrale acérée de Simon Reade est mise en scène par le lauréat d'un Off West End Award Matthew Iliffe (Bacon) et présente une distribution d'ensemble dans une production élégante d'époque, produite par le responsable de Noël Coward's The Rat Trap et John Galsworthy's The Forsyte Saga Parts 1 and 2 (RSC/Park Theatre).
