Troupe ha annunciato il cast completo per la prima mondiale della nuova adattamento teatrale di Simon Reade di Twenty Thousand Streets Under the Sky di Patrick Hamilton. Michael Maloney (Ernest Eccles), Alex Bhat (George Perry) e Lucy Gray (Prunella/Padrona di casa/Cameriera) si uniscono ai già annunciati Yanexi Enriquez (Jenny Maple), Rosalind Lailey (Ella Dawson) e Jordan Scowen (Bob). Basata sul classico romanzo di Hamilton ambientato nella Londra della fine degli anni '20, la pièce segue le vite di tre londinesi soli e il loro desiderio di connessione e ossessione reciproca.
La produzione di Matthew Iliffe debutterà al Southwark Playhouse Borough il 16 settembre, con anteprime dal 10 settembre, e rimarrà in scena fino al 17 ottobre 2026.

Adattato dal romanzo classico di Patrick Hamilton, celebre autore di Gaslight, Rope e Hangover Square, Twenty Thousand Streets Under the Sky è un racconto epico di tre londinesi soli alla ricerca di una connessione nelle strade immense della metropoli. Al tempo stesso darkly umoristico e devastante, è una lettera d’amore alla Londra degli anni ’20, l’era Jazz, in tutta la sua gloria sporca. Un’acclamata versione televisiva è stata trasmessa su BBC Four nel 2005, con protagonista Sally Hawkins.
Questa prima mondiale del tagliente nuovo adattamento teatrale di Simon Reade è diretta dal vincitore del Off West End Award Matthew Iliffe (Bacon) e presenta un cast d’ensemble in una produzione d’epoca di stile, dal produttore di The Rat Trap di Noël Coward e The Forsyte Saga Parte 1 e 2 di John Galsworthy (RSC/Park Theatre).
