The Healing is an immersive contemporary dance-theatre production exploring the connections between inheritance and personal confrontation with the past. Created by Marie Barlizo, a recipient of the 2022 Jovette Marchessault Award for Playwriting, the work is directed by Aaron Jan and choreographed by Hanna Kiel. It follows Marie's journey of navigating her upbringing with an alcoholic and mentally ill father, as she grapples with the legacies of fear and addiction in her own life. The performance runs from February 17 to February 22, 2026, as part of the WinterWorks festival at Centaur Theatre.
