As part of KUUMBA 365: Second Edition, dancers and choreographers Syreeta Hector, Lua Shayenne, Esie Mensah and Katlyn Addison will perform the world premiere of their commissioned solo piece inspired by this season’s Visual Art exhibitions at The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery.
Lua Shayenne, Katlyn Addison and Syreeta Hector have created a new work in response to Charles Campbell’s how many colours has the sea. In contrast, Esie Mensah has created a powerful dance piece inspired by Lap-See Lam’s Floating Sea Palace. Drawing from Lam’s exploration of identity, the dualities of the past and future and the rich cultural narratives that shape our stories, Mensah brings this dynamic response to life through movement.
Presented by TD Bank Group through the Bank’s Corporate Citizenship platform, the TD Ready Commitment, KUUMBA 365: Second Edition is in partnership with Harbourfront Centre and The Power Plant.
Date and Time: Saturday, Feb 1st, 2025, 8:00 PM - 9:30 PM
