Erwartung is paired with Bluebeard's Castle in a captivating double bill at the Canadian Opera Company. Directed by Robert Lepage, the production features mezzo-soprano Karen Cargill as Judith and bass-baritone Christian Van Horn as Duke Bluebeard, alongside soprano Anna Gabler in her COC debut as the Woman. Each one-act opera explores themes of psychological tension, unveiling the complexities of desire and fear. The visually striking performance is enhanced by innovative set and lighting designs by Michael Levine and Robert Thomson.
