The Prima Donnettes to Open Florida Studio Theatre's Cabaret Season, 10/23

Kicking off the Cabaret season at FST is THE PRIMA DONNETTES, developed by FST Artistic Director Richard Hopkins and Jim Prosser. It will open in Florida Studio Theatre's John C. Court Cabaret on Wednesday, October 23, 2013. Subscriptions for all three shows can be purchased for as little as $35 and up to $49. Single tickets range from $18-$36. Subscriptions and single tickets may be purchased online at FloridaStudioTheatre.org, by phone at (941) 366-9000 or by visiting the Box Office.
TRT2 to Stage WHITE PEOPLE, 10/3-20

TRT2 will launch it's third season by producing J.T Rogers' controversial play White People opening October 3rd at the Silver Meteor Gallery in Ybor City. The show will run Thursday, October 3rd through Sunday, October 20th. Performance times are 8:00pm Thursday through Saturday and 3:00pm on Sundays. Admission is $15 at the door or online at tamparep.org/wp. Groups of eight or more can purchase tickets at a group rate of $12 per person. The Silver Meteor Gallery is located at 2213 E. 6th Avenue, Ybor City.
Dunedin Showcase Theater to Present HIDE AND SHRIEK, 10/10-13

Dunedin Showcase Theater is pleased to present Tim Kelly's hilarious mystery farce, 'Hide and Shriek'. The show is the story of June Hungerford, a young lady from the city on the run for her life from a jealous rival, Edwina Hyde. She takes sanctuary in a creepy mansion in the Ozark mountains with a rather peculiar mountain family, the Dimshrouds. They take her in gratefully due to her resemblance to a missing relative whom they need to 'produce' in order to receive their monthly trust check. Mayhem and madness ensue, due to local superstitions, missing people and possible murder. Come and join us for this laugh a minute show.
Stageworks Theatre Receives 2013 50/50 Applause Award

Stageworks Theatre announced today that it has been honored as one of the recipients for this year's ICWP 50/50 Applause Awards, which sets out to recognize theatres which produce 50% or more women playwrights in their season of shows. In the spring, members of ICWP nominated theatres that were producing the work of women playwrights throughout the world.

Florida Studio Theatre announces its fundraising collaboration with The Woman's Exchange, Inc. of Sarasota. FST will take donations from the community, consign them through The Woman's Exchange, Inc. and receive a percentage of revenue from the sale. FST will be collecting donations Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Items may be brought to the Box Office reception desk at 1241 N. FST will be teaching a series of 14 Spoken Word workshops from October through December at Booker Middle School. The theme of these workshops will be Speak! Of Service, Of Country, Of Freedom. Florida Studio Theatre's Legacy of Valor events are in collaboration with the Senior Friendship Center.
