Due to scheduling conflicts and construction delays in the company?s new performance venue, Echo Theatre Company has moved its June production of ?Nerve? to July 10-25, 2009. (The show was originally scheduled to open June 5.) In the July production of Adam Szymkowicz?s dark romantic comedy about the hazards and hilarity of online dating, Charlie Barron will play Elliot and Colleen Backer will play Susan.

The Griot Museum of Black History (formerly known as The Blackworld History Museum) will host, ?Carnaval in July,? a free multicultural, family-focused community festival with food, music, dance, arts and crafts on Saturday, July 11, noon-6 p.m. at The Griot. The festival will feature percussionist David A.N. Jackson; African dance by Mama Lisa of Fundisha Enterprises, roots fusion/neo soul by Mario Pascal; Mexican dance by Kids Mex; stilt walkers from the Nan Foule Mask Society, Glenn ?Papa? Wright, Jr., puppetry and storytelling by Glenn ?Papa? Wright; interactive exhibits from the Magic House, face painting, mask making, food, merchant and information booths. The World Bird Sanctuary will bring a variety of birds, some that represent the countries featured in the exhibit. The festival is free; Griot admission is $5 for adults, $4 for youth 13-17 and $2.50 for children 12 and under.

Essentially a one man show, the only other actor is a man Barrymore has hired to help him with his lines. Though this incident never actually occurred, it provides an opportunity for the actor to reflect on his colorful life, and gives the audience a glimpse of his madness and his greatness.

Brownie Fan,' a one-man play by Bill Borst. It will be directed by Jim Meady and produced by Brad Slavik. Performance Dates are: evening performances on September 25, 26, and October 1, 2 and 3; and a matinee performance on September 27.

In November, SLS returns with an adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's TREASURE ISLAND, presented at the Missouri History Museum as part of their Performing Arts Series.
