Stages St. Louis will present the final show of its 2009 season, Guys and Dolls, at the Robert G. Reim Theater in Kirkwood from September 4 - October 4.

Guys and Dolls ran for 1,144 performances, won both the New York Drama Critics Circle Award and the Tony Award for Best Musical of the 1950-51 season. In the distinguished history of the American musical theatre, few works have enjoyed the universal popular and critical acclaim that has been given to Guys and Dolls. It is as fresh today as it was in 1950. Featuring one of the greatest musical scores ever written, Guys and Dolls is a bright and brassy story about love, marriage and all that a roll of the dice can bring you.

Guys and Dolls features music and lyrics by Frank Loesser with book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows. Appearing in the Stages cast are Edward Watts as Sky Masterson, David Foley, Jr. as Nathan Detroit, Kate Fisher as Sarah Brown, Julie Cardia as Miss Adelaide, Edward Juvier as Nicely-Nicely Johnson, John Flack as Arvide Abernathy, Jason Cannon as Lt. Brannigan, Paul Pagano as Harry The Horse, Steve Isom as Benny Southstreet, Herschel Sparber as Big Jule and Zoe Vonder Haar as General Matilda B. Cartwright. Other cast members include Ben Nordstrom, Ellen Isom, Andrew Lebon, Nathan Garland, Michael Baxter, Michael Ramey, Mathias Anderson, Lois Enders, Andrew Kruep, Stephanie Caplin, Becca Kloha, Sarah Nischwitz, and Tara Sweeney.

Direction and musical staging for Guys and Dolls are by Michael Hamilton, with choreography by Dana Lewis, and musical direction by Lisa Campbell Albert. Completing the artistic team are scenic designer Mark Halpin, costume designer Lou Bird, lighting designer Matthew McCarthy, and orchestral designer Stuart M. Elmore.

Guys and Dolls will run for a total of five weeks. Week one performances are Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 4 and 8 p.m., and Sunday at 2 and 7:30 p.m. The week two schedule is Tuesday through Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 4 and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Weeks three, four and five will have additional performances on Wednesdays at 2 p.m. Week five will also have an additional Sunday night performance at 7:30 p.m. For more information and to purchase tickets call 314-821-2407 or visit www.stagesstlouis.org.
