Student Blog: New Semester, New Challenges

First Week For Many, Second Week For Some.

My first week of my second semester of junior year was...long and short at the same time. It did pass by quickly, since half of my in-person classes were cancelled for most of the week, but slowly also, because most of that free time was spent sitting around, waiting for something to come up to entertain me.

That wasn't all bad, though; it meant I could have lunch with my best friend (a newly-minted freshman) and her friends from the E-Sports team.

Either way, we do have choir together, and that's something I've been looking forward to since she got admitted into the university back in October.

This week kicks things back into high gear. Wish me luck. I also wish you all luck as you likely are starting out your semester this week. Start strong, so you can finish stronger.

We’ve all heard it: the claims from friends and relatives of how easy we must have it “just singing and dancing” for schoolwork. This week marks that of my spring break which has been, in the simplest terms, a real curveball. Maybe this is an unexpected description for a break from school. They are more commonly seen as relaxing, restful, fun. While I would agree that my break has been all of these things, it has also felt very odd.

Student Blog: Being an Assistant Stage Manager Photo
I had the opportunity to be an assistant stage manager for a community theater’s production of Miracle on South Division Street. Stage management was something that had interested me for a while as a job in the world of theater. Stage managers really make shows happen, and I was honored to take part in a production as a valued asset.

Fandom-ism isn't a one-way street, for the most part at least. One fandom usually bleeds into another one, and then another one, and soon enough you're a fan of more things than you originally expected.

First semester of junior year at MBU was probably the most notable of any semester so far of college. For one, my best friend, the one on the right in the picture, started working at the university and will be starting school there in a couple weeks.

Usually, when I think about fall, I think of crunchy leaves that make a mess of our deck and bitterly cold temperatures whenever the sun's not out. This year, though, that changed, if only a little bit.
