Broadway legend John Kander, who is currently represented on Broadway with Chicago and New York, New York, celebrates his 96th birthday tomorrow, March 18. To celebrate the headed to the Ambassador Theatre to pose with the ladies of Chicago!

The Fred Ebb Foundation (Mitchell S. Bernard, Trustee) in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) presented the fifteenth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Angela Sclafani & Benjamin Velez. The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, was presented by Kate Baldwin on Monday, December 2nd from 6-8pm at a by-invitation-only ceremony in the Penthouse Lounge of The American Airlines Theater.

Fifteen years after its Broadway debut, Steel Pier, a Kander and Ebb musical, premieres in Europe this autumn at the Union Theatre, London. Following the recent success of their critically acclaimed revival of Rent at the Greenwich Theatre, Paul Taylor-Mills and Richard Jones collaborate once again to premiere this production in London. Steel Pier, John Kander and Fred Ebb's high-energy dance musical about life in 1930s Atlantic City, is currently playing its first professional European staging at London's Union Theatre. Phantom of the Opera veteran Sarah Galbraith stars as Rita Racine, a dancer who sets out to leave the dance marathon circuit amid the city's romance and deceit. The Town Hall, New York's landmark concert venue, conclude the 11th season of the acclaimed Broadway By The Year® Series with The Broadway Musicals of 1997 last night, June 20th. The highlight of the evening included reunion performances from the original Jekyll & Hyde stars including Robert Cuccioli (Tony Nominee), Linda Eder (Drama Desk Nominee) and Christiane Noll.

Last night, February 14, Town Hall continued its 'Broadway by the Year' series with the Musicals of 1921, licking off the series 90th anniversary season. Written, created and hosted by Scott Siegel, the cast featured Erin Davie (A Little Night Music), Stephen Mo Hanan (Cats) Kevin Earley (Thoroughly Modern Millie), Liz Lark-Brown (2011 Nightlife Award Winner), Tony Award nominees Bobby Steggert (Ragtime), Kate Baldwin (Finian's Rainbow), Jeffry Denman (Drama Desk Nominee, Yank!), Erin Denman (42nd Street), and KendRick Jones (The Scottsboro Boys). Also featured were the 10 'Siegfeld' Follies Girls that will help recreate the look and style of a Broadway that existed 90 years ago, the year when Town Hall, itself, was built. On November 7th, Primary Stages held its 21st Anniversary Gala honoring Tony Award-winning Choreographer and Director, Susan Stroman at Tavern On The Green. On hand for the festivities were Nathan Lane, Charles Grodin, Karen Ziemba, Boyd Gaines and many more.
