Alice Ripley Will Return to THE PINK UNICORN in August

Tony Award-winner Alice Ripley will return to the role of Trisha Lee in their production of Elise Forier Edie's The Pink Unicorn in collaboration with Nancy Manocherian's the cell (338 W 23rd Street) Tuesday, August 13 through Sunday, August 25, 2019. Directed by Amy E. Jones, Ripley initially played a critically acclaimed limited engagement of the production, which was ultimately extended, in May 2019. Tickets will go on sale Monday, July 15.

NNPN Announces 2019-20 Program Awardees

National New Play Network, the country's alliance of professional theaters that collaborate in innovative ways to develop, produce, and extend the life of new plays, announces its 2019-20 grant recipients, including the 2019 Smith Prize for Political Theatre, seven Producer Residencies, and eight Collaboration Fund awards that will support partnerships between multiple Member Theaters, playwrights, and other theater makers in various projects.

TATTERED CAPES Extends Run Following Fringe Win

After a successful, sold out run at the biggest Hollywood Fringe Festival yet, the Theatre Unleashed premiere of Tattered Capes by acclaimed playwright Gregory Crafts took home the Fringe Award for "Dance and Physical Theatre" Sunday night against a tough field that also included hit shows like Cirque du Giselle, Shakedown at the Dusty Spur, Mil Grus and Scarlett Fever. The win is TU's second in a row, after taking home the award for Best Comedy last year with A Very DIE HARD Christmas.

Broadway's next generation comes to LA in A Little New Music's 20th concert of new musical theatre songs in The Sorting Room's 2019 Summer Series at The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts on June 26th at 7:00 pm. Kathy Deitch (B'way WICKED, FOOTLOOSE) will host. Multiple LA Ovation Award-winning composer Gregory Nabours (THE TROUBLE WITH WORDS, MARILYN! THE NEW MUSICAL) returns as music director, leading the ALNM band. Ticket availability is extremely limited, but there will be a waitlist. Scroll down for photos of the cast in rehearsal.

Acclaimed Philip Ridley Drama TENDER NAPALM Returns July 18

African-American director David Norwood will premiere a uniquely re-envisioned American version of TENDER NAPALM by renowned British playwright Philip Ridley (The Pitchfork Disney, Mercury Fur, The Fastest Clock in the Universe). This poetic two-hander originally premiered in London in 2011, before making a limited engagement Off-Broadway debut in 2012 to critical acclaim. Previews begin July 18 at HERE with opening set for July 24.

FX Lands Stellar Ensemble Cast for the Drama Series Pilot GONE HOLLYWOOD, Including John Magaro and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

FX today announced the cast that will star in the pilot for Gone Hollywood. Set in 1980, Gone Hollywood centers on a group of talent agents who defect from an old-guard percentery to found their own, which skyrockets to industry dominance, disrupting the business and changing movies forever. The show will mix its fictional protagonists with real-life entertainment figures and events.

Cue Zero Theatre Company Named Best Of NH

Cue Zero Theatre Company has been selected by the editors of New Hampshire Magazine as 'Best of NH 2019' in the Best 'New' Theatre category. Cue Zero was awarded in honor of their emphasis on working with new talent, new materials, and finding new ways to represent and communicate the craft and joy of theatre. The winners will be celebrated at the Best of NH Party on Thursday, June 27, at Manchester's Northeast Delta Dental Stadium from 6:30 p.m.-9 p.m. Proceeds from the event's ticket sales will benefit CASA of NH.

BWW Review: A BRONX TALE at The Overture Center

I had the pleasure of seeing A Bronx Tale with my friend Cassy, who had NEVER seen a musical before! (I know, right?!) I invited Cassy because the 1993 movie, off which the musical is based, is her favorite. Seriously, her cat is named Calogero, after the lead character in both the movie and the play. I was excited to see this show, and especially excited to see it through the eyes of a neophyte theater goer. I was not disappointed!

Auditions will be held at Kimball Jenkins Estate (266 N Main St) in Concord. Rehearsals will be held Tuesdays/Thursday/Sunday evenings starting June 11th in Manchester, and performances are August 16th-25th at the Hatbox Theater in Concord, NH.

LA / NYC electro duo Collapsing Scenery (Don De Vore and Reggie Debris) have shared new single 'Sisyphus Of The Negev' and its accompanying video from their anticipated debut album Stress Positions (out June 28, 2019 via Metropolitan Indian).
