Opera Memphis is proud to announce the launch of The McCleave Fellowships, a first-of-its-kind program designed to identify and nurture emerging artists of color in opera. Mercury Theatre Colchester today announces the full cast and creative team for the world premiere of the 2017 Mercury Playwrighting Prize winner - Oliver Bennett's Europe After The Rain. Cara Nolan directs James Alexandrou (Will), Simon Haines (Max), Natasha Kafka (Marta) and Anna Koval (Yana) and the creative team includes Amelia Jane Hankin (Designer), Kiaran Kesby (Lighting Designer), Nuno Santos (Sound Designer) and Craig Hamblyn (Fight Director). Europe After the Rain opens in the Mercury Studio Theatre on the 31 May with previews from 25 May and runs until 9 June.
Out Front Theatre Company is closing out a spectacular second season with Del Shores' Sordid Lives. Hitting the stage May 3-20, the theater's rendition of the classic comedy will reflect the current times and bring a new spin to the show with an all African American cast portraying the Sordid Lives family members for the first time in the show's history!

The Everyman Company 2018 will present the stage adaptation of Anthony Burgess' A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess as director Nick Bagnall invites audiences into a world of milk, ultraviolence and Ludwig Van Beethoven.
Birmingham-based choreographer Rosie Kay has been selected as one of the lead artists for the handover of the Commonwealth Games from Australia to Birmingham on 15 April. Kay will be choreographing the handover performance in Birmingham which will be broadcast to a global televised audience of 1 billion people.
Bringing a book about volcanoes, tunnels, mud aliens and magical stones to the stage makes for some unique challenges and there had been a lot of talk of how it could be staged. Director Sara Brodie, who gained notoriety with her direction of the highly successful The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime (Auckland Theatre Company 2016), has melded a technical team who have created a landscape of tension , thrill and drama for the performers to tell their story.
Kitchen Theatre Company continues its 2017-2018 Season with the regional premiere of Ironbound by Martyna Majok, a gritty, honest, and at times humorous look at an immigrant experience in America. Performances of Ironbound begin at the Kitchen Theatre Company in The Percy Browning Performance Space on January 21 and run through February 4.
