Heartland Opera Theatre announces new productions of Puccini's Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi, presented as a double bill on March 6th at 7pm and March 8th at 2pm. Both performances will take place at Joplin Memorial Hall in the heart of Joplin, Missouri.

University of Kentucky Opera Theatre Presents GIANNI SCHICCHI and SUOR ANGELICA, featuring music by Giacomo Puccini and librettos by Giovacchino Forzano.

Pacific Opera's first opera of the season is a gem of the operatic repertoire that has not been performed in Canada in more than 50 years. Puccini's Il Trittico is a triple-bill of one-act operas that, when staged together as the composer intended, provides an emotional roller coaster of an evening. Il Trittico is presented October 17, 19, 25, 2019 at 8 pm, and October 23 at 7 pm, with a matinee October 27 at 2:30 pm. All performances take place at the Royal Theatre, 805 Broughton Street, Victoria.

Brett J. Roden announced today that Roanoke Children's Theatre (RCT) has hired Brynn Scozzari as Director of Education. Scozzari will fill the role previously vacated by Roden who will assume duties as the Producing Artistic Director for RCT on September 1, 2019. 

Following an extensive national search, Hawaii Performing Arts Festival (HPAF) has named Shayna Leahy, current Director of Production, the festival's new Artistic Administrator, effective August 26, 2019.

On Saturday, July 27 at 8 pm, BLACK BOX Cabaret presents "I Only Wanna Laugh," an evening of musical shenanigans with Ali Funkhouser, The ACME Rhythm Section, and violinist Irina Fainkichen.

THE BLACK BOX will present a concert celebrating the music of the highest-grossing animated film of all time: Disney's Frozen. The concert will feature a narrated telling of Elsa and Anna's story with live performances of the film's songs as well as new music written for the current Broadway production. July 5-6 and 26-27, Angels Vocal Art (AVA) will present Puccini's three-part opera Il Trittico: Gianni Schicchi on July 5-6, Il Tabarro and Suor Angelica on July 26-27. Il Trittico is cast from the Emerging Professional and Studio Artist Programs from the 2019 Angels Vocal Art Opera Intensive.

AVA is pleased to welcome six new Resident Artists to the opera academy. The incoming class of Resident Artists includes Emily Margevich (soprano), Cody Muller (bass), Zachary Rioux (tenor), Sahel Salam (tenor), Anne Marie Stanley (mezzo-soprano) and Griffen Hogan Tracy (bass). These singers come from across the country, from Philadelphia and Colorado, to Chicago and Princeton, as well as New Brunswick, Canada.

Opera Memphis has announced the lineup of events for its 2019-2020 Season, featuring a Puccini Double Bill of Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi and Mozart's Cosi fan tutte as the anchoring performance of the Midtown Opera Festival 2020. The year kicks off with the eighth annual 30 Days of Opera, and continues with The Jessye Norman Concert presented with Memphis Symphony Orchestra. Following that is a three month residency at Dixon Gallery and Gardens with the return of A Victorian Holiday and new programs including Opera Goes to Broadway and a family-oriented Magic Flute.
