Texas Ballet Theater (TBT) has expanded its company for the 2017-2018 season. As the dancers return to work, they will be joined by four new trainees, four apprentices, and five new company members.

Centenary Stage Company welcomes The Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra to the Lackland Performing Arts Center on Saturday, August 5 at 8pm as the fourth installment of the 2017 Summer Jamfest series. Hailed by The Washington Post as "the premier American ragtime ensemble", The Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra is one of the few professional ensembles dedicated to preserving America's first popular music, ragtime. The PRSO recreates the sounds of the concert stage, the dance halls, and the theatre in their own original scores, which accompany clips from silent films. The orchestra has been praised for its work to preserve and share in America's rich musical history.

A winner of the prestigious National Theatre Company Grant Award by the American Theatre Wing, Classical Theatre Company (CTC) is proud to announce the lineup for its 2017-2018 Mainstage Season. As the only professional theatre company in the State of Texas that solely produces classical drama on a year-round basis, CTC only produces plays that are 100 or more years old.
Sundance Institute's Theatre Lab kicks off today with the announcement of this year's participating acting company and creative advisors. The Lab, which runs through July 30 at the Sundance Resort in Utah, is supervised by Artistic Director Philip Himberg and Producing Director Christopher Hibma, and is the centerpiece of the Institute's year-round work with the theatre community. It's one of 24 residency Labs the Institute hosts each year for independent artists in theatre, film, new media and episodic content.

Brink- the edge of a cliff or other high area, or the point at which something good or bad will happen. As we forge our future in a world plagued with decreasing faith in establishment and hyper-scrutiny toward marginalized communities, we look to use theatre as a tool to spread awareness of oft-ignored social problems. Our programming for our fourth inaugural season focuses on the importance of overcoming adversity, the fragility of mental health and the danger of repressed emotions.
