Beautiful: The Carole King Musical 2014

As BroadwayWorld reported in July, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical will end its Broadway run today, October 27th, 2019, after having played 60 preview and 2,418 regular performances, surpassing the original production of Annie and the landmark 1998 revival of Cabaret to become the 27th longest-running musical (and the 2nd longest running 'bio-musical') in Broadway history.

The earth is still moving at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre, but only until October 27, 2019. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the musical, based on life of recording superstar Carole King, will conclude its record-breaking Broadway run in just over a month.

The hit musical Beautiful is celebrating International Day of Friendship with a special music video for the production's iconic song 'You've Got a Friend' featuring cast members from the show around the world, as well as the woman who inspired it all: Carole King. Check out the full video!

BroadwayWorld has learned that Beautiful: The Carole King Musical will end its Broadway run this fall. BEAUTIFUL began performances at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on Nov. 21, 2013, and officially opened on Jan. 12, 2014. So, by the time the beloved musical ends its run, it will have run on Broadway for nearly six years.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Broadway veteran Andrew Kober will take over as 'Don Kirshner' in Broadway's Beautiful starting July 16. Kober steps in for Paul Anthony Stewart, who will return to the show on Tuesday, September 3.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that singer-songwriter Vanessa Carlton will be the next Carole King in Broadway's Beautiful. Carlton takes over the role from Chilina Kennedy, who departs the production on June 26.

Beginning today, March 14, Kara Lindsay will return to the company of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical as Cynthia Weil. She takes over the role from Jessica Keenan Wynn, who played her final performance on March 13.
