Good news! The Broadway blockbuster WICKED has announced that the Live Lottery will return to the Gershwin Theatre for Summer 2022. Broadway’s only in-person lottery will open two and a half hours before each performance begins in the Gershwin Theatre breezeway.

Broadway's Tony Award-winning original Elphaba, Idina Menzel, stopped by The Kelly Clarkson Show for a surprise visit with the Broadway production's current green girl, Talia Suskauer.

The Broadway sensation WICKED will welcome new cast members to the National Tour beginning performances Tuesday, March 22 at the First Interstate Center for the Arts in Spokane, WA.

Just last month, Brittney Johnson took her first bow as Glinda in Wicked on Broadway, making her the first Black actress to assume the iconic role. Johnson joined the cast opposite Lindsay Pearce as Elphaba, Alexandra Billings as Madame Morrible, Michael McCormick as The Wizard, Sam Gravitte as Fiyero, Jordan Barrow as Boq, Mili Diaz as Nessarose, and Michael X. Martin as Doctor Dillamond.

This morning, Brittney Johnson appeared on the Today Show to discuss being the first Black woman to take over the role of Glinda in Wicked on Broadway. Johnson was surprised by original 'Glinda' Kristin Chenoweth, who sent in a congratulatory video message. She also appeared on NBC Nightly News to take viewers backstage at Wicked.

Ariana Grande shared praise for the show's leads, Lindsay Heather Pearce and Brittney Johnson, on her Instagram story, stating, 'You were so very, very brilliant. Truly an honor to see and hug and hear and witness you both. I am weeping!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still!!!!!! Words simply do not suffice. Everyone was so remarkable. I feel so deeply thankful to have experienced this this tonight. Floating!'

Brittney Johnson has appeared on Broadway in Les Misérables (Eponine), Motown, Sunset Boulevard, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, and Kristin Chenoweth: For the Girls. She stars opposite Lindsay Pearce as Elphaba, Alexandra Billings as Madame Morrible, Michael McCormick as The Wizard, Sam Gravitte as Fiyero, Jordan Barrow as Boq, Mili Diaz as Nessarose, and Michael X. Martin as Doctor Dillamond.

Sharon Sachs will take over the role of Madame Morrible in the Broadway blockbuster WICKED, beginning performances on February 14, 2022 at Broadway's Gershwin Theatre (222 West 51st Street).

This evening, Wicked on Broadway, will welcome actor Jordan Barrow to its principal cast in the role of Boq. The role marks Barrow's Broadway debut, as well as the first Black actor to play the role in North America.  

Thank goodness! Brittney Johnson will take over the role of Glinda in Wicked on Broadway, beginning performances on February 14, 2022 at Broadway's Gershwin Theatre. Currently the Glinda standby, Ms. Johnson will be the first Black actress to assume the role of Glinda.

In 2003, the original company of Wicked made its way to 34th Street to perform 'One Short Day' at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Earlier today, almost two decades later, the company returned for an encore! Watch the full performance below.
