The Visit

Ages: 16+
Closing: December 17, 1999

The Visit - 1999 New York History , Info & More

based on the play Der Besuch der alten Dame (The Visit) by Friedrich Dürrenmatt

Claire was driven from her hometown in disgrace when she was 17, betrayed by her lover. Many years (and seven husbands) later, she returns (beautifully dressed, but with a wooden leg) to her now-impoverished stomping grounds and offers to save the town. The price? Nothing less than the life of Schell.

Review: MAMMA MIA! Brings ABBA’s Timeless Hits Back to Vancouver
by Alyson Eng - May 30, 2026

Some musicals fade with time, but more than 25 years after its London premiere, MAMMA MIA! seems determined to do the opposite. The musical continues to fill theatres around the world, introducing new audiences to the story while giving longtime fans another reason to revisit the songs they already know by heart. Few productions have maintained the kind of global appeal that MAMMA MIA! has enjoyed since its debut, and its latest stop at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver, BC this week offers another reminder of why.

Review: IN THE HEIGHTS Returns to Musical Theatre West
by Michael Quintos - Apr 13, 2026

Bursting with contagious rhythm, irrepressible heart, and an abiding sense of community pride, Lin-Manuel Miranda's Tony Award-winning 2008 original Broadway musical IN THE HEIGHTS remains one of the most vibrant and emotionally resonant contemporary musicals to emerge from the early 21st century. For Musical Theatre West, this current 2026 production of the musical—which continues performances at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center in Long Beach through April 26, 2026—is an anticipated return of a musical that this company first staged back in the Fall of 2017. In essence, it's nice to come home to something comfortably familiar.
