HONK! Is a musical adaptation of the Hans Christian Anderson story of "The Ugly Duckling". It embodies a message of tolerance and bullying…and as Director Bud Martin suggests in his program notes…'the discourse in our country today is full of bullying, name-calling, racism and anti-immigration". Ensemble for the Romantic Century continues the 2018-19 season, ERC's 18th, with its final offering of the season, Hans Christian Andersen: Tales Real & Imagined by Eve Wolf.  Performances began April 13th for a limited run through May 25th, with opening night scheduled for May 5th

Playwright Darcie Dennigan Wins Anna Rabinowitz Award For THE HAPPY END

The Poetry Society of America named Darcie Dennigan the recipient of the inaugural Anna Rabinowitz Prize, judged this year by Matthea Harvey. The organization's press release explains that Dennigan has been chosen for her play, The Happy End. An athletic performance piece and an adaptation of Monica de la Torre's collection of poems The Happy End / All Welcome (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2017), The Happy End was originally performed as part of the Providence Fringe Festival in 2018 and is currently being remounted at The Wilbury Theatre Group until April 13.

Cast Announced for HONK! UK Tour

Today the cast members of the upcoming tour of Honk! The Musical was announced. After a successful run at the Union theatre in 2017, the production went into workshops at The Arts Centre, Hounslow which is where the tour is due to open on May 1st 2019.

New York Live Arts Presents Netta Yerushalmy's Epic Four Hour, Six Part Series

New York Live Arts (Live Arts) to present the New York premiere of Netta Yerushalmy's Paramodernities, March 14-17, 2019, having commissioned the work as part of the Live Feed Residency Program. The complete six-part encyclopedic series is a multidisciplinary work that weaves theory and performance into a four-hour-long hybrid event. Yerushalmy and a cast of 20 dancers and scholars, ranging in age from 20 to 68, perform deconstructed installments of Nijinsky's “Sacre” (1913), Graham's “Night Journey” (1947), Ailey's “Revelations” (1960), a mix of Cunningham works “Rainforest,” “Sounddance”, “Points in Space”, “Beach Birds”,  and “Ocean” (1968-1990), dance numbers from the 1969 Fosse's film “Sweet Charity”, and a response to Balanchine's “Agon” (1957) that includes none of the original choreography.

Adam Hoyak plays Ugly, the famous duckling.
