Today the National Theatre announced the 24 strong cast of Sally Cookson's magical retelling of Peter Pan as rehearsals get underway for its limited run at Troubadour White City Theatre, a brand-new venue, just minutes from Westfield in West London.

Artisan Children's Theater proudly presents SHREK JR. at its 148 seat Second Stage facility. The theater is located at 444 East Pipeline Road in Hurst.

Fun for the whole family, Metropolitan Performing Arts (MPA) presents Honk Jr, a delightful adaptation of the beloved fable and award-winning musical that is a heartwarming celebration of what makes us special. Ugly looks quite a bit different from his darling duckling brothers and sisters. The other animals on the farm are quick to notice and point this out, despite his mother's protective flapping. Feeling rather foul about himself, the little fowl finds himself on an adventure of self-discovery, all the while unknowingly outwitting a very hungry Cat. Along the way, Ugly meets a whole flock of unique characters and finds out being different is not a bad thing to be.

Venice Theatre is kicking the summer off right with its fun, energetic production of Honk. This Anthony Drewe and George Stiles musical based on the story of the Ugly Duckling, reminds us that it is alright to be different. Honk follows Ugly in his journey to find himself and a place of belonging. Seen as an outcast by his siblings and his father, Drake, Ugly is befriended by the Cat whose sole ambition is to eat Ugly.

Following critically acclaimed, sold out runs, first in 2018 and again earlier this year, writer/performer Barra Grantreturns with her darkly hilarious mother-daughter story: the true, inside tale of Grant's seismic relationship with her mother, Bess Myerson. Pageant Productions and Canon Theatricals present Miss America's Ugly Daughter: Bess Myerson & Me written and performed by Grant and featuring Monica Piper.

Following its critically acclaimed London run, Olivier Award-winning musical Honk! is finally flying the nest this year, soaring into the Belgrade Theatre 4-8 June.

PUPPETWORKS is pleased to announce the Summer presentation in its Park Slope, Brooklyn Theatre: Prokofiev's orchestral adventure, "Peter & the Wolf," and on the same program, "The Frog Prince," by the Brothers Grimm, with music from Kabalevsky's "The Comedians," and Andersen's "The Ugly Duckling."

Winner of the Best Fringe Theatre at the 2019 Stage Awards, The Barn Theatre's upcoming production of the classic comic thriller, The 39 Steps, which opens at the Cirencester theatre in July 2019, will now transfer to the Theatre Royal Windsor from 12 - 17 August 2019. The production launches the theatre's Built By Barn initiative, transferring shows from the venue across the UK.

Ensemble for the Romantic Century continues the 2018-19 season, ERC's 18th, with its final offering of the season, Hans Christian Andersen: Tales Real & Imagined by Eve Wolf.  Performances began April 13th for a limited run through May 25th, with opening night scheduled for May 5th

The Poetry Society of America named Darcie Dennigan the recipient of the inaugural Anna Rabinowitz Prize, judged this year by Matthea Harvey. The organization's press release explains that Dennigan has been chosen for her play, The Happy End. An athletic performance piece and an adaptation of Monica de la Torre's collection of poems The Happy End / All Welcome (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2017), The Happy End was originally performed as part of the Providence Fringe Festival in 2018 and is currently being remounted at The Wilbury Theatre Group until April 13.

Today the cast members of the upcoming tour of Honk! The Musical was announced. After a successful run at the Union theatre in 2017, the production went into workshops at The Arts Centre, Hounslow which is where the tour is due to open on May 1st 2019.

Northwestern University's Wirtz Center for the Performing Arts announced today (April 2) that tickets are available online for a new musical based on the life and imagination of Hans Christian Andersen. The announcement comes on Andersen's birthday celebrated worldwide as International Children's Book Day.
