CMAP (Carrie Morris Arts Production) has announced the return of the much anticipated 'Detroit Fringe Festival'. Now in its sixth year, this grassroots performing arts festival has featured the work of over 200 artists, highlighting new and work-in-progress creations from Michigan playwrights and performers. Subtitled a?oeA Mystery,a?? in it, a preacher and a poet are in love with the same woman. The former is her husband, the latter wants to woo her away, and both are shocked by her ultimate choice and the reasons for it. 

It may only be September, but pantomime season is just around the corner at Oldham Coliseum Theatre. The theatre has lined up a talented cast of familiar faces for this year's famous festive spectacular, Jack and the Beanstalk, who will be putting the extra sparkle into Christmas in Oldham.

Carrie a?" The Musical was the final production of this year's graduating class of the Stage School in Hamburg. Felix Löwy and Lauren Slater-Klein directed the show. It was produced by Thomes Gehle and performed 40 times this July and August at the First Stage Theatre. The musical's book is by Lawrence D. Cohen, with lyrics by Dean Pitchford and music by Michael Gore. The story is based on Stephen King's novel Carrie, published in 1974. It is about a teenage girl who is raised by her religious fanatic mother. Bullied at school and oppressed by her classmates, she unleashes telekinetic powers which lead to a fatal climax at the school's prom night.

Musicals at Richter (MAR), celebrating 35 seasons as the longest-running outdoor theater in Connecticut, continues its main stage season with 'Shrek the Musical,' a hilarious fairy tale adventure based on the beloved animated film and children's book, playing July 26 to August 10. Staged on the grounds of the Richter House Arts Center, 100 Aunt Hack Road, in Danbury, performances take place outdoors under the stars Friday through Sunday evenings, with additional specially discounted performances on Thursday August 1 and 8.

Along the way, Ugly meets a whole flock of unique characters and finds out being different is not a bad thing to be.

Winner of the Best Fringe Theatre at the 2019 Stage Awards, The Barn Theatre's upcoming production of the classic comic thriller, The 39 Steps, which opens at the Cirencester theatre in July 2019, will now transfer to the Theatre Royal Windsor from 12 - 17 August 2019. The production launches the theatre's Built By Barn initiative, transferring shows from the venue across the UK.
