Historic Deertrees Theatre has announced its 85th anniversary summer season. The quintessential performing arts venue, providing performing arts entertainment to the Greater Maine region since 1936, presents an eclectic offering for the summer of 2021, featuring an open house, theatrical productions, comedy and several fundraisers. 

She Loves You will have its world premiere in March 2022 at the Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, starring Danish singer and actress Maria Lucia (The Beauty and the Beast, The Sound of Music on stage and the Danish film dubbing of Disney's Frozen) leading a cast of 24 musical performers. This production with Danish dialogue and English-language songs, will transfer to the Musikhuset in Aarhus before launching a Scandinavian tour of Sweden, Norway and Iceland, with several worldwide productions still in the pipeline.

Saturday, April 3 will see the debut of the feature length biopic Robin Roberts Presents: Mahalia on Lifetime at 8pm EST/7pm CST. The movie of legend Mahalia Jackson stars GRAMMY and SAG award winner Danielle Brooks as the gospel legend and civil rights trail blazer.

The MultiPiano Ensemble will focus on Mozart for its first-ever commercial recording, alongside the English Chamber Orchestra, on Hyperion Records. And the album, 'Mozart: The Complete Multipiano Concertos' includes, alongside the well-established Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra K365, and the Concerto for Three Pianos and Orchestra K242.

Broadway is coming back to New Mexico when Popejoy Hall reopens this fall! Popejoy Presents announced the 2021-2022 season featuring the long-awaited Broadway national tour of HAMILTON, now scheduled for 24 performances over three weeks, from January 25 through February 13, 2022. Howard Johnson, veteran jazz musician, tuba innovator and founding member of the Saturday Night Live band, died at home in New York on Jan. 11, 2021, following a long illness, according to his longtime partner, Nancy Olewine.
