Howard University has announced the appointment of Phylicia Rashad as dean of the recently reestablished College of Fine Arts, effective July 1, 2021. In this role, she will report to Provost Anthony K. Wutoh. An alumna of Howard University, Rashad graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s in fine arts.

The Theatre Company presents its inaugural production, The Moors by Jen Silverman, March 18-April 11. Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director/CEO) has announced the ninth annual Roundabout Underground Reading Series, a five-night event that includes nightly readings of new works written and directed by emerging artists, as well as post-show receptions. San Francisco Playhouse announced casting for the Bay Area premiere of Groundhog Day the Musical, the hit Broadway comedy adapted from the timeless Bill Murray film. Danny Rubin, co-writer of the 1993 film, wrote the book, with music and lyrics supplied by Tony-winner Tim Minchin (Matilda). Susi Damilano will direct the Playhouse production, with music direction by Dave Dobrusky and choreography by Nicole Helfer.

Uptown Players, a professional theater group located in the Uptown area of Dallas, has announced special programming to run during Gay History Month on the Bryant Hall stage on the Kalita Humphreys Theater campus. Imaginary Theatricals presents Douglas Carter Beane's biting and extremely funny THE LITTLE DOG LAUGHED, directed by Tripp Pettigrew-Rolapp (Irving Berlin's White Christmas) and starring Andy Kenareki (Llamas in Disguise, Andy K Comedy) as Alex. THE LITTLE DOG LAUGHED will open on Tuesday, August 6th at 8 pm and will perform through Sunday, August 11th at The Reef, Floor 7, 1933 S Broadway in Downtown Los Angeles.

Sideshow Theatre Company announce sits 2019-20 Season, launching this fall with the U.S. premiere of Alistair McDowall's mind-bending sci-fi thriller X, directed by artistic director Jonathan L.
