Jazz music will be blooming this spring on both stages at Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center. The Chester County performing arts venue is set to welcome multiple artists to its two intimate settings, hosted by Sara Michaels and the Jazz Cocktail Hour Series.

What did our critic think of TOOTSIE at The Aronoff Center? As theatre innovates and reinvents, the days of the old-time musical comedies are all but behind us. But the broadway musical adaption of Tootsie (based on the 1982 film), is a welcome and refreshing musical comedy. The story is simple: an out of work actor needs a job, that actor gets hired in disguise as a woman, and deceit and hilarity ensues.

Michigan rapper NF tells it like it is on his unapologetic new single “MOTTO,” out now via NF Real Music/Virgin Music. The track finds NF at his most defiant as he dissects the state of the music industry. Ultimately, he decides to side-step trends and just do him. “MOTTO” is accompanied by a compelling visual.

Angourie Rice, Auli’i Cravalho, Jaquel Spivey and Reneé Rapp have joined the cast of the Mean Girls movie musical. The film adaptation of Mean Girls the Musical will be directed by Arturo Perez Jr. and Samantha Jayne and was written by Tina Fey, with music by Jeff Richmond and lyrics by Nell Benjamin.

Tony Award winner Santino Fontana (Tootsie) will perform in the role of Father Kenny in Classic Stage Company A Man of No Importance, starting tonight, December 7.

Cecilia Livingston has been named the new Composer-in-Residence at the Canadian Opera Company. The program was created to support artistic growth and career development, with each residency custom-tailored to each artist.

The tour will kick off with a show in Atlanta, GA at Vinyl on November 11th, where they’ll be opening for The Dangerous Summer. After that, they’ll be visiting over 10 cities across the southwest including stops in Dallas, TX, Los Angeles, CA, San Diego, CA and Las Vegas, NV before wrapping up in Nashville, TN at The Cobra on December 11th.
